Happy Easter from La Serena, a toast to spring with the winery’s wines

From the Brunello to the Rosso di Montalcino, at the winery La Serena, Easter smells like great wine, while we are all waiting for the warm season

From the Brunello to the Rosso di Montalcino, at the winery La Serena, Easter smells like great wine, while we are all waiting for the warm season.

Spring is in the air among the rolling hills of Montalcino. While in the vineyard the plants are awakening- it’s the first sign of the year to come- in the cellar the best wines to toast to Easter are being selected. Also this year we are sadly apart, but we are looking towards the future. “Our wish is for you to spend some peaceful days, while dedicating yourself to your favourite activities. For us, it is the pleasure to taste a great wine!” This is what Andrea Mantengoli states, he is the owner of the winery La Serena.

Connection, wine and territory: La Serena’s philosophy

Easter, this year, overlaps with the first days of Spring. A season of rebirth that, for La Serena, which is immersed in nature, also means intense scents and bright colours returning once again.

But it also means the preparation for a new year of work, that will come to an end in September, with the harvest. “The season is starting once again, along with the different cultures that we are following, in order to work to that wish to be a full agricultural business and not a single-crop one. In addition, the connection to the territory and its beauties is one of the central points of La Serena’s philosophy, as demonstrated also by the attention to sustainability and the bio-architecture’s principles that inspired the cellar’s construction. The wish is to integrate the human  dimension with the natural one, in a relationship that is not based on domination but on coexistence and respect.

Suggestions from the winery

The Brunello 2016 by La Serena is waiting to be discovered, as a matter of fact it was just presented to the Benvenuto Brunello Off. It is a vintage that aroused lots of interest and it can be the right present to give to others or to yourself, for an Easter lunch in the spirit of the “Made in Montalcino”’s excellence. Another crown jewel of the winery is undoubtedly the Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Gemini, it is made from the very best vines of the winery, it is perfect with red meats and game, but it is also a good meditation wine. The ruby red colour, bright and shining, is on the other hand, typical of the Rosso di Montalcino by La Serena. It is a wine with a great potential, to try with pasta dishes, pizza and seasoned cheese. The choice is really up to you!
